Escape from the flickering electric light
And dripping tap of my flat
Where everything clangs and echoes
Like money in a tin box
To the emerald slopes of
This simple paradise
Embrace the freedom and feel it
Surging through my veins
To my very core
Flop down on a bed of long grass and
Admire the emptiness of the world
Watch the clouds like cotton giants
Migrating across an ocean of sky
Pilgrims just as I
Here you can run in circles
Without the accusation of insanity
And tumble idly down
The hills of clover
I asked the silence if I could stay for ever
Or at least a few more sunlit days.
