I sit alone by the pool. A stench of death carries from the orchard, where the apples thud to the ground like rain. I watch the tiny, sand-coloured lizard perform his midday sun-dance, jumping from foot to foot. I think, he does not, cannot, love as we do – and maybe his life is much simpler for it.

MistakenMagic,
I liked this, I could really get a picture of the
sand-coloured lizard performing. I know you put it
under love, but I also found it quite humorous.
Good 60 word story.
Jenny.

it's so much harder to do these micro pieces than you'd think, isn't it. (well I think so anyway) I like this one very much Magic, and I hope tomorrow goes well for you!

Magic...I have just literally stumbled on this one. And what a gem. Small is beautiful, as they say.
Many, many congratulations by the way on your wonderful news today. You deserved it, hands down. And well done, of course, on the cherry;-)
