My Spoon Fell Into The Jelly Tub

Eating strawberry jelly fresh out of the fridge
Attention wanders. Spoon falls- squish-
Into the pink-red depths.
Dilemma.
If I stick my fingers in
It'll be sticky, and messy, and awkward
But if I get another spoon
Leave the first one encased in goo
Eat round it
Like nothing is amiss
Then...
I'll have clean hands- and my sweet reward.

Seems to me
Strawberry jelly's a lot like life
Like an argument you want to settle
With the minimum of fuss.
Trouble or avoidance- which to choose?
Hmm...

Maybe in the future
I'll go for fruit salad instead.
