Such poise in any situtation,
However difficult,
Ignoring the dog at your leg,
A social cliff-edge.
Believing is Seeing,
A very British trait,
Eyes straight ahead
And stride on.
There is no harm if
You ignore it.
Maybe.

Do you mean 'poise' vice
Do you mean 'poise' vice 'pose' in line 1? Or 'composure', perhaps?
I like the poem with 'maybe' and without: but it is definitely two different poems, depending on which choice you make.
