Unfortunately she was brutally rejected

By the first person to which she felt connected

She was given hopes and promised her dreams

Of London and Paris and to her it seemed

Like this person loved her through thick and thin

Which was hard to accept because way back when

She was young she had no way of knowing

Scars tell you where you’ve been but not where you’re going.

Can we pretend her mind is her attic?

And through all that chaos, heartbreak and static

Fairytales brought up to date

Never before did she feel such hate

Towards a person she felt only love

She thought that they were sent from above

And then when they were gone she was left

Sad and broken and as though bereft

She ended up going on a bender

So far in family thought it would end her

But she picked herself up and over time

She said ‘these feelings no matter what, they were mine’
