HATE COULD HELP US HEAL

our time together's dwindling
like stars near dawn of day
we find our spirits drifting
as our hearts begin to stray
.
we wasted precious moments
fires of passion lost their glow
we said our goodbyes long before
it was the time to go
.
our drawbridge has been hoisted
and we've hardened up like steel
we're pushing on each other
thinking hate could help us heal
.
the gift that was our present
was destroyed by future tense
it wrapped its evil fingers
on the whole experience
.
so now we shall be parting
with a final hug and kiss
but when we're miles away
there is no telling what we'll miss
.
the letter of our love's been signed
a blood red heart, its seal
we stand here still in love
but thinking hate could help us heal

Nice one Alvin. I like the line,
"our time together's dwindling
like stars near dawn of day"
Great way to start this off.

Hi Alvin,
great to read your poetry again. This one was kind of poingnant but compelling and left the reader to draw their own conclusion.
An astute piece.
Jenny.
