HONEY NEVER SPOILS

the changing face of chemistry
a swift revolving door
just when you think you've got it pegged
it changes even more
at zero water freezes
at one hundred water boils
you can put your faith in honey though
for honey never spoils
the dinosaurs of olden days
were tragically destroyed
a mammoth cataclysm
from an errant asteroid
the changes, atmospheric
left the creatures to recoil
you can put your faith in honey though
for honey never spoils
the mummies found in pyramids
have nearly turned to dust
their tombs of precious metals
are evolving into rust
the perfumes they provided
are now useless pools of oil
you can put your faith in honey though
for honey never spoils
that brings us to relationships
a brittle thing indeed
a fragile game of balance
that can quickly go to seed
i always spoil my honey
for as far as i can see
there is reciprocation
for my honey's spoiling me
