I LOVE YOU, RIGHT ?

i'm at the age when things regress
i've pulled back in my head
and tend to think of days of yore
than yesterday, instead
.
sometimes my recollections
may be far apart and few
but if i say, "i love you, right ?"
please indicate i do
.
the path ahead seems very short
the road behind, so long
with many fields of flowers
that my mind might dwell among
.
please pull me forward from the past
to share a present tense
and if i say, "i love you, right ?"
just nod, so it makes sense
.
the years of late are spinning wild
at almost lightning speed
a grasp of concentricity
is something that i need
.
so bring me to the moment
so a union, we'll fulfill
and if i say, "i love you, right ?"
please say, "you always will"
