LOVEBIRDS

lovebirds have no arms to hug
but baby, they can wing it
a love song nestled in their throats
and when it's time, they sing it
a lovebird always mates for life
a husband and his feathered wife
a nest that's built with love, not strife
where they can always bring it
.
lovebirds flutter in their flight
the male flies up above her
and then he gently eases down
when it is time to love her
in tandem, they will float in air
how colorful, this lovely pair
a common pathway, they will share
as in the sky, they hover
.
a lovebird has a little beak
it's sometimes called a pecker
and they can operate that thing
just like a black and decker
they know when to fulfill their needs
perhaps they'll plant some little seeds
as they perform their loving deeds
laid back, so he won't wreck her
