babies have a lot of bones
more than they'll later use
for bones seek out their kinfolk
and to other bones, they'll fuse

a baby has no kneecaps
floating underneath their skin
but they aren't really needed
for a baby doesn't sin

those sinners need their kneecaps
when they kneel and start to pray
for God depends on knee mail
to be sent to him each day

a patella's an umbrella
made to keep one safe from hell
for hell can be a nasty place
as far as i can tell

but let's get back to babies
with a pure unwrinkled mind
the world at large, unnoticed
by their faith, entirely blind

some folks baptize their babies
for insurance, i suppose
to keep them from the clutches
of those dark satanic foes

but when they've aged a bit
and pray to God to hear their pleas
then they will thank the lord
that they have kneecaps in their knees
