PERPETUAL EMOTION

i find that i'm bamboozled
by mechanical design
the clockwork of machinery
escapes my feeble mind
.
for years, the greatest scientists
all put themselves to task
inventing wondrous items
and in glory, they would bask
.
the one that they all pondered
but could never bring to life
became a source of misery
their failure brought them strife
.
a motion, deemed perpetual
engaged by a machine
was thought to be the holy grail
but never was it seen
.
oh how they used to pull their hair
impossible, their chore
the more they tried, they were denied
it scarred them to the core
.
the one thing that my brain accepts
simplistic in its facts
will bless me with a peace, complete
to let my mind relax
.
emotion, that's perpetual
with soul, prepared to bare
a love that lasts forever
is a concept meant to share
