the phoenix is a creature
that will suddenly expire
to find itself reborn in full
from ashes of a fire
.
their feathers then will sprout anew
from head down to the tail
i find my lovely phoenix
turns to california quail
.
the phoenix is a creature
with a future, when it dies
although the path is painful
they know where that future lies
.
requiring reconditioning 
when daily life is stale
i find my lovely phoenix
turns to california quail
.
the phoenix is a creature
who is not afraid of time
they look within for essence
of a type, rare and sublime
.
there's never any room for doubt
their vision must not fail
i find my lovely phoenix
