PROSPECTING

the miners in the olden days

would sit and pan for gold

and every now and then

these guys would find a speck, i'm told
.

they'd swish their pans around and round

and look out for the gleam

that meant they'd found the stuff

in which they could construct their dream
.

and if there was no glitter

it was tossed back in the muck

for that was not a thing

in which they wanted to get stuck
.

now, let us speak of liars

with behavior, so uncouth

in which you must discover ways

to excavate the truth
.

take tips from those old miners

simply spin around your dish

and toss away the junk

while clinging to the things you wish
.

and when you have discarded

all the falsehoods you've been told

then what you have remaining

will be truth as good as gold
