THROUGH ALL OBSTACLES

our lives are long strange journeys
many chasms in our path
a misstep in the dance
can bring a tragic aftermath
.
but when i hold your hand
i'll never be afraid to try
though pebbles make us stumble
over mountains we shall fly
.
there can be tricky currents
that will dash us on the rocks
a cruel and violent tumble
as the water chides and mocks
.
but when you're by my side
i sense the angry forces dim
though lapping waves upset us
through vast oceans we shall swim
.
there may be gusts that blossom
to divert us from our course
with whining voices from within
to fill us with remorse
.
but since i've held you near
i've never felt so much alive
though gentle breezes tip us
through a hurricane we'll drive
.
the embers that shall warm us
have capacity to burn
respect is of importance
as the wise among us learn
.
together we move forward
as our wisdom finds the ways
though sparks can make us tremble
through great fires we'll safely blaze
