TIME WILL ALWAYS WIN

now, time has been our master
since the day that time was born
and each day picks off some of us
while some are left to mourn
but the mourners soon are mourned themselves
that's the way its always been
it is no surprise
we must all surmise
that time will always win

we live inside an hour glass
that will never be upturned
and once that you fall through the neck
you are history, we've learned
we are clinging on to a grain of sand
and your neighbor to it's twin
and its side by side
that we both abide
that time will always win

there are salmon swimming in a creek
and they zip right through the flow
but then adopt the attitude
that reversing they should go
but alas, we are not salmon
and we lack the tail and fin
they will take us back
so we face the fact
that time will always win
