Crying screams*

Silent screams echo
Through the white-washed walls
I don't know you
And yet
I pity you
With your mixed-up head
And you hands bruised from pounding
On the white-washed walls
I see you
A pile of rags in the corner
No straight jacket today
Could it be that you're improving?
Yet as I watch you
You rise from your slumber
A snarl escapes from your lips
No
You're not better yet
But
Although you don't know it
I can see inside your troubled mind
I know how to heal the pain
If you would only let me
I know the fears and dreams and despairs
And heights and falls and brambles of yoursoul.
Don't ignore me
I know who you are
I know how hard it is to live
When you think there's nothing to live for
Nothing but each new day
Nothing but the sun that rises
You can see it
Look,
Through the barred window
You can see it
Hold on to that small something
Live
And don't let that spark of life go
Don't leave the world
Because you know you'll miss it
And
Somehow
You know that it will miss you too
