D: Summer

A brief reflection on summer
That is somewhat biased
Seeing as we live in such a rainy place.
First of all we bask in sunlight
And hairy men go round, disgustingly,
With their shirts off, and make women cringe.
Summer brings paddling pools, bikini lines, holidays
And a reflected sun in the mirrored grass.
A brief reflection on summer
Which is not so brief after all
Because of the deep heat.
Lazy hoverflies in the garden, sprinklers misting hedges
And although we are slower than before
We seem so alive, so much more alive.
