I am a parrot

I am a parrot, bold and colorful.
I am a parrot, shouting out my uniqueness.
I am a parrot, with each feather showing a different story.
Blue feathers, drowsy days,
Yellow feathers, cheery days.
What do I see?
I see a roaring ocean
that roars like a lion
next to a forest full of life.
The ocean tries to beat the forest with it's beauty,
but they are no competition,
for it is what is inside each.
I am a parrot, bold and colorful.
I am a parrot, shouting out my uniqueness.
I am a parrot, with each feather showing a different story.
The ocean is not a path for me,
nor is the forest.
My wings and my feet find their own unique way,
through tornadoes and storms,
and sun and shine.
I am a parrot, bright and stunning,
for I follow my own path
of glory and beauty.
You may see my feathers, yes,
but my beauty is on the inside.
My wings fly me to where my heart says,
to a far-off land,
of hope and love.
The other birds call me crazy,
for I do not follow them,
or eat just seeds.
I eat from the wildest berries,
and the deepest roots.
I am a parrot, caring, but lonely.
I may fly alone,
but my heart beats to find another bird,
to play and shout.
When I come across this bird,
we will cry in happiness,
and splash in the puddles,
all to continue on our journey in the end.
I am a parrot, bold and loud,
hear my cry.
