May you be blessed find grace and peace
  Please the Lord and find favour in His eyes
May God be merciful, show mercy to others
Be a man kind, generous and gracious
Be quick to forgive, slow to anger

Honour and bless your father and mother
  as their prize, pride and joy
  guard and provide for your wife and children
  cherish your sisters, brothers and friends
Remember also, 
  heed your teachers' and father's wisdom

May you be fearless strong and noble,

Stand your ground,
  a man of courage a man of dare and deed

Search and thirst the Lord with all your soul

That's lovely, Nolan. Before I saw the reference at the end, I was thinking this is reminiscent of Proverbs. So much wisdom packed in there especially for those starting life. Mercy and grace, pointing forward to Christ, and showing the wisdom of choosing right, and seeking God's help. I have just seen little testaments to be given to schoolchildren in Wales in Welsh, and they have chosen to use a colloquial paraphrase and include Psalm and Proverbs with the New Testament.

My husband has written a Devotional 'Practical Godliness' book on Proverbs, and years ago I did a little collection for children with Proverbs on different subjects like Pride, Talking etc with a few notes.

So many are very 'visual' to catch the attention and make things practical! Rhiannon

It is interesting Rhiannon, the book of Proverbs is “neutral” in the sense that it is a book only of proverbs, morals and wisdom. Any religion can use and apply it, as well as people who don't belong to a formal grouping. I would say the same of Ecclesiastes, Psalms and Solomon's Song, but not other books of the Bible.

Traditionally pocket Bibles are the New Testament and then include Psalms and Proverbs. I think they are very inspirational and can reach many people and many desperate people. There's a storm it's raining here cats and dogs. I had trouble the weekend with the internet.
