if i were but a poet i'd write a poem for you
tell how much i love you how much i care
in my words alone might sound too much
if i do i hope that you will know
if i try i hope that you will understand

till there is no rain and the wind no longer blows
till silence and darkness has fallen on the earth 
until hope is gone and the sun no longer shines
i will love you till the mountains sink in the sea
until then is how long my love i will love you

~

waterfall's thunder cloud shadows flying
you are a fountain blessed a mountain brook
fire flame's passion rainbow colours' hope
you are in a sea breeze fresh and cool

~

until every grain of sand every teardrop sea
till every star in the sky was numbered
till the sun has burned out and disappeared
until all years and the ancient ages past
till there is no light or time will i love you

~

you are a crackling fire the sparkle of diamonds
dawn that lets morning's mists vanish away
the moon and stars i see into my window peer
only you in my thoughts can take me there

~

until all songs are sung all stories told
every word in every tongue was spoke
till every clock has stopped
and infinity has been counted out
is how long love i will love you

~

always that is how long love i will love you
i will love you still love after forever again
forever darling i will adore you
before the words are done i must say still
forever darling will i adore you

My Luve is like a red, red rose, that’s newly sprung in June:

My Luve is like the melodie, that’s sweetly play'd in tune.
