Barry
Such a short time, we had together,
But many memories that I'll remember,
You were a Scouser; it's true to say,
Watching Liverpool upon match day,
That night out on Darren's stag do,
You were happy as hell, but acting too,
And then there was that weekend to remember,
Thinking you would become the 5th team member,
But a tragic secret you did hide,
Acting all happy whilst depressed inside,
That next Friday we were meant to meet,
I made a mistake and I'm left crying in the street,
I unfortunately let you down,
It was my mate's birthday and I was in town,
And if I had never let you down,
You'd still be here clowning around,
You set fire to your flat,
And barricaded yourself in, wanting to die like that,
The police broke through and dragged you out,
Giving you another chance to get proper help,
You gave them a story that they did believe,
Discharged from hospital and you felt relieved,
You walked out the doors, was this a new start,
You got in to town and walked through the parks,
That next morning a man walked through the parks,
And what did he see there, hanging beside the bark,
A rope round your neck tied to a branch,
When I found out, I was in a trance,
Goodbye Barry, although I'll never understand,
You still killed yourself??????..
Even though you had a second chance.
