Just as icing and decoration
makes the greatest cake
the smallest things make you.

and make me who I am,
smiling.

The way your eyes light up
and you shake your head,
just slightly, slightly,
when you spot me
waiting to cross your path
bringing the luck not of a black cat
but of a the white centre
of a marshmallow.
