When I was eleven and ten,
I used to play spider,
I went up the mountain
And search it everywhere.
When I was eleven and ten,
I used to play a kite,
Put a nail in a taro stem
And start a cockfight.
Together with my friends,
I used to climbed a mango tree,
Hoping it will never end
We were young and wild and free.
During those nights, it’s full of laughter,
Under the moon, we played,
Telling stories about a monster,
Though I was afraid.
When I was eleven and ten,
I used to make myself believe
There are fairies, there are elves,
At the backyard where we lived.
When I was eleven and ten,
There is no such thing called T.V,
To the radio, I used to listen,
My favorite is “Tiya Dili”.
When I was eleven and ten,
I used to buy MikMik,
I always get cough then,
But it does not make me sick.
It’s more fun catching dragonfly,
Watching fireflies, talk about Mars,
Dreaming someday I could fly,
Waiting and wishing at shooting stars.
When I was eleven and ten,
I used to play text and marbles,
One by One and Chinese garter,
Hula-hoop and making bubbles.
When I was eleven and ten,
We used to play britt game
But those days we have been,
It will never be the same.
When I was eleven and ten,
I always wanted time to pass swiftly,
But now I was eighteen,
I wanted to be the little me.
