- 747 reads
I indulged myself in you
Locked out the other things like light and air
And other people with demands
And books that asked me ever so politely
If they could be read.
But I said no and shut their sad covers
On the whisper of pages inside
Moving on each other.
There was no texture in the world
That wasn't you.
As if the world and all its bounds
Were made of skin, hair, mouths and eyes.
The sound of the world was just my ear
Tracking every in and outward breath.
And in my eyes, even when they were shut
Only the black circles of your pupils
All I saw.
There was no fruit, no salt, no sweet and sour
Nothing passed my lips.
I simply, only, breathed the scent of you.
