Dear dairy,
here we are. Switch on the telly. Select neutral. Engage the parking brake and await dementia.
Darwin! How do you explain this?
The Golden Generation that could do no wrong. Macmillan saw it clearly enough: "You've never had it so good."
So now we have paid the debt. No more freeloaders, please. Show us your medals or your paybook, or set your alarm clock and and roll your sleeves up with the rest of us.
Enough war stories already. It's time to make our own way in a modern world, and be grateful for good neighbours from Jamaica or Bangladesh, Poland or Sudan whose NIC pays your pension and who'll make the call when the milk bottles accumulate at the door.
