Autumn

It's not so bad if you fill your ears and close your eyes.
That's my firm belief.
If you can fill your head with a tune and close off the dark, wet afternoon you can be anywhere you want of your own making.
I try to maintain delicate contact with the ground.
Don't let it embed too deeply.
Don't let it take hold.
Be anywhere you want to be with anyone you choose.
Through my eyelids I see the sun shine on fields of golden corn.
Swallows crystallise so hard I can hear their excited calls as they scoop insects above my head. Above and within.
There's no limit to this place.
No end except death, and then I'm not so sure.
The instant joy of being everywhere in the moment.
Why worry about a wet autumn evening?

Like a sort of escapist meditation. I like it. I'm often off to better places myself. No one can stop us.
