The President has spoken
The Catalan Parliament is dissolved
like Alka-Seltzer
The casera sweeps the floor
after the workmen
who’ll be back to finish off on Monday, ojalá
God-willing
It’s been a sleepless old week
with one thing and another
The evening’s warm and black
Conversations spark
around the terrace
But nothing catches light
Buses pass
half-empty
I permit myself a copa
Just the one
I haven’t been myself
as they say

Good poem. It certainly expresses the uncertainty of the moment very well.
