Your arrogance appals me from the start.
Your religious belief in the Grand Narrative’s ability
to transport humanity to its destiny.
to transport humanity to its destiny.
But what, I wonder, of all those who don’t have your privilege?
Those who lack the opportunity to be what you are;
who will never enjoy devout belief in themselves,
through no fault of their own?
who will never enjoy devout belief in themselves,
through no fault of their own?
We’re getting close to home.
My apologies.
My apologies.
Have you ever met them, I wonder?
Known them, I mean.
Known them, I mean.
I doubt it.
What does the Grand Narrative hold for them?
I can guess.
Perhaps their failure to contribute to “society” will dictate their fate.
But whose society?
From what I see, they contribute heavily to their own.
Adding their value in dead-end jobs, which they lose to automation.
Caring for the people you neglect, for a pittance. Shows how much you care.

Caring for the people you neglect, for a pittance. Shows how much you care.
But they are not people to you, just districts that you know by name alone.
The irony.
“Humanity” and its destiny.
I like you. You’re a nice sort.
But I find your proposition a little sad.
But I find your proposition a little sad.
You see, my “people” are those people.
I’d try to talk about how your “society” is one among many,
and, having the economic upper-hand, has power.
But I know how easily you’re bored.

The Grand Narrative – human destiny.
What a lovely idea.
If it weren’t so inhumane.
What a lovely idea.
If it weren’t so inhumane.
It’s been nice talking to you.
Thanks for the lesson.

not sure what the grand
not sure what the grand narrativfe is, but whatever demeans and excludes those that are not grand and seeks to hide thier stories, well, that to me is a lie.
