Just friends, no more
and if we pushed too hard
it wouldn’t be the same
we’d inflict pain
and after sex
we'd have our first row
and everyone would know
we’d gone too far somehow
and soon we’d hurt the ones
who are always last to know
and then we’d loathe ourselves
and hate each other
for taking things too far
but then it’s all too late
we’ve dealt the blow
we’d walk away
and never speak again
to the friend
we never got to know

I like this parsons.
I can quite see why you have included the second stanza but a part of me thinks that it wasn't needed (in spite of its edge and humour). The first single stanza is excellent - one to be proud of. This is simply a subjective and personal opinion on an already good poem, thanks for sharing parsons.

Hello,
I'm no poet but I think Scratch is right as the last four lines of the first stanza end the poem's message on a powerful note.
But hey what do I know. Only that I enjoyed it very much.

Much better Parson, it was good before, but Scratch and moya are right, it didn't need the last bit. It's brilliant as it is!
