Unseen

everything is green
curving down to earth
with shining sound of
smooth clear jewels
heavy on the perfect points
that bounce when struck
releasing into brief existence
miracles that strike against the
polished skin of chlorophyll below
and all the water flows
through shaking canopy
to beat the forest floor
jolting small detritus
gathering gullies
emerging under rocks
with trophy sticks and leaves
to feed the purple moss
softer than the hair
upon your lip
and on through virgin grass
beneath the tumbled fence
around the scattered bones
and awkward fleece
to tumble in the ditch
inventing bubbles
drawing duckweed
sliding past unseen
along the shattered road
to lose its way among
the hooves and effluent
and weep into
the rusted sluice
