Going Viral: Lockdown Meltdown

Ten weeks since the world went viral
And I'm in a downward spiral
So far tech has kept me going
But my discontent is growing
Had to give up going places
No more walks in open spaces
Social distancing was lacking
So some coppers sent us packing
Tried to think of something novel
Banged up in my high-rise hovel
Had enough of online shopping
Not to mention channel hopping
Sat alone and feeling gloomy
Wishing my flat was more roomy
Missing my forever friends
Still the bad news never ends
Woke this morning feeling better
Till I read my boss's letter
Even though I've been on furlough
Now it seems I'm being let go
Worst of all is just not knowing
Where the hell this lockdown's going
And then when we reach the exit
Don't forget there's always Brexit

I loved this. I'm in a low
I loved this. I'm in a low rise hovel but can identify with the sentiment. And yes, it's only June, there's six months of 2020 still to go, and Brexit... I'm never ever again going to say, 'Well, it can't get any worse.'
Thanks for cheering me up, in a funny sort of way!
