The Aliens are Here!

 

"The aliens are here!" said Mick.

 

"Where?" said Larry, as he looked around the living room where they were sitting having a cup of tea.

 

"Not here," said Mick. "Here."

 

"On the sofa?" said Larry.

 

"Yes," said Mick; "and no."

 

"Well I'd like to know which it is," said Larry; "because I've just had the sofa reupholstered."

 

"What's that got to do with anything?"

 

"Don't aliens exhude ectoplasm?"

 

"That's ghosts."

 

"Alien slime?"

 

Mick gave Larry a look.

 

"Best get packing then," said Larry.

 

"This is no time to go on holiday!" said Mick.

 

"I was thinking more to escape the extraterrestrial wrath," said Larry.

 

"There is no escape!" said Mick. "They are everywhere!"

 

"Even Skegness?"

 

"Maybe not."

Larry sipped his tea and considered the socio-economic implications of the human effluence washing in on the tiny waves.

 

"I have to say, friend Larry..." said Mick.

 

"What, friend Mick?" said Larry.

 

"They could have chosen a better time of year to conduct their invasion," said Mick, as he pulled his balaclava further down over his face.

 

"At least it got us out of the house," said Larry.

 

"True dat," said Mick.
