'I wasn't expecting that,' said Nigel, as he looked at the big, misshapen, purple rock before him.
'Ugh,' said McGinty, as he sat in the corner, rubbing his head.
'McGinty,' said Nigel, 'you know about such things... does that look like The Moon to you?'
'It looks,' said McGinty, 'like a big, misshapen, purple rock.'
'That's what I thought,' said Nigel.
'How far have we travelled?' asked McGinty.
Nigel showed him the milometer from his BMX, which he had adapted to show bigger numbers.
'And does this... ahem... spaceship... have a rear view, by any chance?'
'Sort of.'
'What do you mean, "sort of?'
Nigel indicated for McGinty to get right up close to the miniscule window and crane his neck round, so he could see the rearview mirror - also adapted from his BMX.
A lot of rude words came into McGinty's head at that moment, which it took a lot of effort not to say. Nevertheless, he did as he was bid, and he saw that Planet Earth was where it should be.
'Hmm...' said McGinty.
'What is it, McGinty?' said Nigel.
'Well...' said McGinty.
'What?' said Nigel.
'The thing is...' said McGinty.
'What's the thing?' said Nigel.
'It appears...'
'?' said Nigel.
'...that we have been duped.'
