Nigel Goes to the Moon - chapter 6: clink! clonk! b'donk!

Nigel and McGinty decided to investigate. Well they had come all this way, it would be a shame to turn back now, wouldn't it?

As they approached the big, misshapen, purple rock (otherwise known as The-Moon-but-not-as-we-know-it), something a bit weird happened with the ship.

Clank! it went.

Then Clink! Clonk! B'donk!

'What was that?' said McGinty.

'Oh nothing,' said Nigel. 'Probably just the flight stabilizers.'

'The flight stabilizers?' said McGinty. 'I don't like the sound of that.'

'Don't worry about it,' said Nigel. 'Where do you think we should land?'

'How about over there?'

'It's as good a place as any.'

Nigel pressed some buttons, blew on a whistle that was dangling from a piece of string and stomped on a big red button on the floor.

The spaceship lurched to the left. McGinty narrowly missed banging his head on the same piece of sticky-out corrugated iron as before.

'Phew,' said McGinty.

'Hang on to your hat!' said Nigel. 'We're going down!'

'But I'm not wearing a h--'

The spaceship lurched forward and down.

McGinty was starting to get a bit fed up of being knocked unconscious.
