One Year On!

About a year ago I undertook The Great Summer Purge of 2005. Some of you may remember me mentioning this on ABC. I particularly recall receiving some sound and supportive advice from 2Lou ' thanks for that, Lou! For those who don't know, this was a momentous occasion when I threw away all of my previous writing. None of it had seen the light of day. It had sat there, in some cases for many years, in a large foolscap ringbinder, doing nothing, being read by no one except me, and I felt that, if I was to have a go at being a "serious writer," I had to start again.
It was a scary time! I had some regrets and I troubled over it for a couple of months or so afterwards. But since then I have produced a sizeable collection on ABC, I have discovered Larry and Mick, I have taken part in an exhibition at The Mailbox in Birmingham, I have had a few cherries, I have received some kind (and occasionally less so) words from ABCers, I have had a piece accepted in Fuselit, and I have made a few tentative steps into the World of Publishing. Regrets? Pah!
Now it's time for the next step... but what will it be? The novel? The BBC script? The comic strip? The standup routine? Giving up "proper" work entirely and becoming a full-time, self-sustained Writer? Who knows! Exciting times ahead...
