Anna Hazare the epitome of honesty and integrity,
Towards you the government’s attitude is bizzare in bounty,
You want to see India corruption free,
but the people in power are immersed in their looting spree.
Stashing money as much as they can in swiss bank accounts,
they want to make bay when the sun shines i.e. when their position counts.
You want Jan Lokpal, your brainchild, to strongly deal with corruption,
but the rulers want a lame duck law with easy escape option.
You want the head of government and the judiciary to be in the ambit,
for queen reasons best known to them the rulers donot want it,
you want exemplary punishment and penalty for the corrupt person,
confiscation of all his property amassed by means dubious in favour of the nation.
A clean administration and an inclusive government is your cherished dream,
progress and prosperity on our countrymen which should always beam.
But the canker of corruption is sucking the sap of our country’s economy,
the so called leaders and officials are enjoying their swollen tummy,
the common man struggles for two square meals a day,
Below the poverty line half of the country’s populations stay.
Without greasing the palm in government machinery no work is done,
the whole ruling and administrative system is a cesspool of corruption.
Through called democracy our century’s politics has become a dynastic affair Like the ancient monarchy and kingship few families rule forever.
Mahatma Gandhi the great patriot freed India flame foreign yoke,
to usher in Ramarajya, in peace and prosperity the country men to soak.
His hopes of self governance to be of the people, for the people and by the people,
have been belied to become in stead of the corrupt, for the corrupt and by the corruptible.
Gandhji the votary of honesty, truth and non violence has been relegated to the abyss of oblivion,
some others flaunting his name and cap are in limelight enjoying pelf, power and position.
Now I may call you the second Gandhi who has won the hearts of Indian people,
articulating their feelings and anger against corruption will your mission be successful?
Time and tell what will happen to the corrupt sycophants
Who are dead against bringing the wind of change for which you are pursuant
But as the age old odage goes it is the truth which triumphs at the end,
you continue in your pursuit without showing any sign of bend,
the people are with you, supporting you whole heartedly, for free the country from the corruption demon
Your crusade will be called the second freedom struggle, which will be ultimately won.
