Tadpoles move in green language, fluid
commas wriggle between voiceless
speech marks, quiet apostrophes,
wordless as the mermaid
who swapped her tongue for
feet, translate cool
existence
into
frog.

I like the idea that tadpoles
I like the idea that tadpoles are punctuation in wordless water. And how the last syllable is "frog" , somehow solid after all the wriggling rhythm

I liked the abrupt statement
I liked the abrupt statement at the end, evoking the huge remarkable transition/metamorphosis that we see so suddenly from quiet cool wriggles to jumping active frog (though he does have a remarkable insect-catching tongue as well as jumping feet!) Rhiannon

How fascinating
How fascinating were tadpoles when we were children! And out of hundreds and hundreds op tadpoles only one or two make it to a frog. I hear some people actually eat frogs and also some kinds have a very poisoness skin.
Keep well Philip! Tom Brown
