Tears Anew

Here in this place were her tears died
Dried against the moistened skin
The birth place of her external expressions
Those eyes hide nothing
They show all she feels, all she has felt
Not only windows the soul
But her heart, the very core
Here within these eyes lay no shadows
Nor darkened areas to hide
No place for secrets to stay to themselves
No, not in these eyes
They speak so freely to any and all who will lend
A passing glance at them
These eyes of hers can’t be trusted to secrecy
They were born much too honest and much to pure
Her soul tattered and tarnished this wasteland is all that remains
It holds no wealth no passion no joy
Pour forth these tears
Graze gently the graveyard of emotion where she has laid them all to rest
Every moment of pain and sadness
No gladness
This Gladys Knight
Has boarded her midnight train
Her destiny pre-chosen
She is her mother’s daughter
Thus making her predisposed to self destruction
Herself mutilation is not craved in her skin
But rather burn in her mind
Thoughts of times
When she was old enough to speak
But not old enough to defend
Old enough to produce these tears
But not old enough for him
And then
With no structure
No beams
On which to lean
She slipped and fell into sin
With no positive supports
To support herself
She grabbed on to the crack pipe
And she melted heroin into her vein
That innocent little girl forgotten but not slain
Her voice to soft and meek to make a difference
Her cries drowned out by the effects of being dazed and confused
Abused and misused
Taking quos
In ones and twos
Smeared make up to cover up the bruises
But the tears now fight through
They no longer expire upon the cheek of she
That was beaten mentally
That little girl had grown so frail inside but could take no more
So she wept
As Jesus did
And her tears did not rid her of her past
But she did produce enough for this poet to see past
The cuts the scrapes the miss placed hate
I wiped her face
And she said
Never again from this moment on
I WILL BE GREAT!!!!!!
