You spat in my eye

Looked away
Looked at the flowers
Stood firm.
I wasn't going there again

You saw what was dying
And tried to make it all of me
I let it die like it was meant to

You were clinging on to the corpse
And defining it as me

And the bit between.

So I took off your ring
Your bracelets
But I carry them around
Because there's nowhere to put them
