Ambition, At school days
During my days at school
essay- writing was a tool
to enrich the skill of expression
then to aid the art of contemplation.
With the guidance of our teacher
composed we many as the author
full of errors, dimensions, many
to teachers, all looked funny
on the formation of sentences
with grammar revealing our ignorance.
Contemplations borrowed from the book
or from the teacher’s lip, it, we took
until originality of thoughts peeped in
improving with growth, from within
On the aim of life what we wanted to be
we wrote on professions, around we could see
a fisherman a boar man, a sale’s man to a farmer
whose contributions, we could answer.
To me a real farmer was not known
“ Toiling labor on land or lands those who own”.
Of course that remained unresolved till date
though those who sweat, the highest we rate
with age and exposure, many, we saw
Doctors engineers and guardians oif the law
suited booted on car at the beck and call, people behind
alluring us a career in it that most of us could find
With logic some preferred engineering profession
as engineers are required to prosper a nation
Some preferred medicine as a service to the diseased
some preferred guardian of law to keep the state appeased.
A teacher, a professor I could rank the highest
They sit next to a king with guidance at the king’s request.
See I, now, then we found happiness in pursuing a profession
as without wisdom we did not have Happiness’ definition.
“Man proposes God disposes of” Is the say
From school essays, we deviated at our own way.
Scoring then marks with our art of presenting us to serve
what we got as our destiny made us to deserve.
We moved on our way as per His direction
our aim in life stayed at our school composition
for fetching marks to decide our merit, bright
to be eligible to get a chair that people spite.
Arguments, we remember with our classmates
for a profession in favor and against 9n debates.
But the malpractices, deeds, and illegal never dented our brain
the ethics in the profession some threw them from chairs to drain
to stay opulent as if the three miseries to keep aside
those miseries are from destiny from inside and outside.
At a grown-up stage, searched, we happiness in a profession
without being ethical and following the scriptural stipulations
Ignorant and innocent at school needed, we wisdom.
Taught, we must be at that age our scripture awesome.
