A challenge to God
P K Routray
Once a super scientist felt complacent on human scientific achievements,
He thought of cosmos and God’s worries and patience.
He felt pity and pathos for God’s toil,
He was sure to repeat God’s creation as present man cannot fail.
Arrogance and pride of achievements behind this feeling inebriated him,
Under the influence of intoxication of his knowledge and confidence he went to God in his dream.
Asked Him to hand him over the charge of creation,
and asked God to take rest and to proceed to pilgrimage mission.
“You are so far enjoying everyone’s prayer and adoration,
Still countless times without logic you put us in painful situation.
You take away our peace and bliss without any rhyme or reason,
And snatch our life half way when many works are left undone.
We want to become immortal with health and pelf in plenty,
You are incapable and mismanage to put us always in scanty.
We have learnt the trick of your trade,
Like us, you go, work hard and earn your bread.’
God agreed gladly to the proposition,
But to make sure of the human capability he wanted to take his examination.
The man was topper from the best institute on earth,
To get Godship with crown and pleasure he agreed with mirth.
God asked him to make a toy of his own,
The man jumped to take a handful of earth to make the toy to quickly sit on the throne.
God stopped “The soil is not created by you, hence search for your own”,
Man got up from his slumber screaming” So many things are still unknown”.
