A game of chess
where intellect, you stress
by maneuvering a king
and its entire troop to swing
at your discretion and direction
to win the battle by mating the king in opposition
is played over a board with sixty-four square
having a knight, a bishop and a rook pair
with a queen endowed with each of these piece’s movement
to express an honor to the women empowerment.
Black and white equally share the color of the squares on the board
having eight columns and eight rows for players to fight with intellectual sword.
The players have to honor the laid down rules of game
to mate the opponent’s king being the ultimate aim.
The game is complex of awesome scale
an inference can be drawn from an ancient tale.
Neglecting his kingdom, a king was always engrossed in chess
the winners over him with predefined gifts he used to bless.
Once there was scarcity of wheat, people suffered because of it,
As the king was engrossed in chess, it did not bother him a bit.
A man with a noble intention entered the king’s competition
as a winning prize he stipulated a seemingly novice condition.
If he would win he should be given grains as per squares in the board
with two for the first square, four for the next and eight in the next so on and on as the award”.
All courtiers and king laughed at his novice stipulation
as the king was capable to give diamond and jewels as his acclamation.
But ultimately when the man won and asked for the prize as per the condition,
it shocked all as the whole grains of the country failed short of the stipulation.
