A difference
P K Routray
From Google net,
a surprise I could get,
that I share with you
to muse on a fact shocking but true
Out of one hundred eight nobel laureates,
in literature, only seventeen are poets,
From Shakespeare to Harold pinter
the forms, rhythms and rhymes did differ.
Were they transformed by the poets’ fancy and mood?
to express their emotions and love which they valued.
This author may be excused for a fancied observation,
meant to bring out from among you a brain storming session.
To a common man in a society
who loved songs and sings to his own tuning on and off his duty,
it became difficult to grasp the modern poems,
with no rhyme or rhythm and abstract themes,
unlike the poems of yore,
when to a common man then the poets did not ignore.
Earlier to reach at the same time with same poem the common and the genius
the poems were composed as the history of poetry tells us.
Now do the depth and beauty in the poems matter?
In other literature are they far superior?
Are they the reasons for poets’ performance?
compared as poor to the other literary giants.
Let us analyze the history of poetry to enhance its popularity,
but not ignoring the demands of society and the sense of creativity.
