P K Routray
I evoke your goodwill & patience
as I am bringing to you again an aspect of Hindu religion.
Indians may fight among themselves for dirty politics or over right to property but in any celebration on propitiation,
All Indians are one irrespective of caste creed and religion.
In autumn every year when the sky is clear, river water is blue and nature is at its best,
Crops in the field bring joy to one and all and from the toil and stress the farmer gets a rest.
They take time off to reflect their path with the essence of spirituality.
The worship of Goddess Durga enkindles their positive sense in destroying negativity
They worship Goddess Durga amidst deep faith and devotion,
She symbolize Valor & strength in unison
The synergy of power energy & virtues concentrated in her,
Meant to destroy Demons and prevail an atmosphere of respite and cheer.
She has ten hands representing the basic elements in our creation,
To kill negativity all of them carry symbolic weapons.
She is Goddess of power and strength
She is also illusory power of the supreme required for His creation to sustain and take breath.
She demonstrates woman’s power and ferocity to rescue her loved ones from the clutches of misery and agony,
just like a mother whether a woman or animal exhibiting all ferocity with accumulation of all her strength and energy to protect her progeny.
The Goddess is worshipped in a fierce form,
being meagerly dressed with full concentration, Killing Mahisasur the demon. and reminding us to reform.
Mahisasur the demon represented all negativities in unison,
With ill motivated austerity and penance Mahisasur had got a boon to win over death except under certain condition.
He would be killed only by a woman in striptease
He was in illusion that a woman can never be shameless and brutal under no circumstances.
So Demon became merciless, cruel and unrestrained,
He attacked the Gods in heaven and brought all the beautiful nymphs of Indra the king of Gods to keep as concubines constrained.
He conquered all kingdoms on earth and tortured their denizens
On the pious souls he inflicted many humiliations,
Hence all the gods contributed part of their energy to merge into one,
Goddess Durga thus was born to kill the vicious demon.
The symbolic statue implies that demoniac vices have more strength and invincibility,
They cannot be won with our virtues without unity and divinity.
The symbolic statue implies that demoniac vices have more strength and invincibility,
They cannot be won with our virtues without unity and divinity.
As with her blessings the season autumn brings cheer to man, animal and nature
We all join together with our promise and prayer for virtuous practices to calm down destiny from her furry and anger in future
