An eye witness

An eye witness

A little rain and a mild wind
gaining momentum and speed
from intensity mild,
suddenly turned lurid and wild.
Confusion and chaos
land water and sky across
arose, forcing all living creatures
praying for Heavenly favors
to run and fly hither and thither
with fear of life to find protection and shelter.
The pathetic cries of one and all to live on
adding to the sound of furry of sea and sandy causing devastation
must have been a nightmare to the God in the Heaven
as if His cosmos would tear open.
The trees were shocked at such natures’ furry,
they started waving their branches upward in utter misery
as if praying the Almighty to rescue the creation
or the sandy will dissolute it, of which they were certain.
Or were they protesting against the dark cloud and lightening thunder?
or were they throwing their branches to thwart the natures blunder?
The wringed-off leaves spiraling Heaven ward
as if confirming, the mute trees were praying the Lord
with offerings whatever they could get,
to save the creation from the Sandy’s threat.
The waves in sea was almost touching the sky
with gushing water rushing towards land with sound high
frightening and mesmerizing one and all
who had ignored the metrology’s forecasting call.
The forecasted intensity did never tell
the sandy would be so cruel driving one and all to hell.
Men and women ran for life
to reach their houses for little relief
Uninterrupted power and gas supply for years found them off guarded
without heat and light life was terribly tormented.
Water rushed to the departmental stores
as if it is hungry and to swallow everything causing losses in many, many crores.
The trees started kissing the ground
even its elasticity limit could not get them bound
as if lying prostrate at the feet of hurricane the sandy,
begging for life by eulogizing the tornado the mighty.
Giant trees got broken and uprooted
but the tiny grasses minute plants survived as if blessed.
The catastrophe was found teaching many a such lesson
The humility and the flexibility wins over heftiness and rigidness, is one of them known.
