Fame on the Plaque
A man is surely taken aback
when he cannot track
the names of the authors
of numerous epical scriptures.
Exist on the earth exquisite sculptures
Unidentified are their genius carvers
“ Great they are” bow the onlookers
with gratitude to them with prayers.
But also exist, proofs ample
with manipulation and battle
snatches the crafts from its creator
and put his name in indelible letters
the fame-seeking unscrupulous victor
adding his adorations as the author
Instances are also in galore,
Hanged the artist, then the ruler
cut his tongue, pulled his eyes
chipped his finger, ripped his family ties
so that he cannot create another
that might lest belittle the feat of the ruler.
Some make their own statues
and add to the crafts his own hues
to live in memories at high esteem
but they never live to cry and scream
as their statues are disfigured, dishonored
The truth over time can never be blurred.
Present rulers love their names in the plaques
to be lauded forever by public for the acts
and they repeat many a time in the same project
but the fate of the plaque in due time they forget.
But the books by authors, anonymous
continuing to part wisdom enormous
make their authors synonymous with Lord
“ To miss such fame no mortal man can afford.”
A passerby passing by under the hot sun
rests under a tree to get rid of exhaustion
thanks the Lord for such nectar-like provision.
The man who made it, him lord will thus, pass on.
Remains synonymous with Lord the unknown carver
Hey man! For materialistic name and fame, do not run after/
