Instead
P K Routray
I long to fly
with each bird up in the sky.
I long to suck and smell each and every flower on the earth
fluttering with butter flies and humming with bees in mirth.
I long to swim in the sweet and salty water
with myriad sized fishes and water creature.
I long to roar like a lion as the king of a forest.
I long to run with the gait and the grace of a tiger at its best.
But I am made a man void of such glittering grandeur of nature
and filled with vanity and jealousy not found in other creature.
Oh God! Instead I long to be made empty of vanity and jealousy
to enable me to dance like those with beauty of nature in ecstasy.
