In India to-day it is a day of joy and jubilation,
All students from nursery to final year are in festive mood of celebration.
They get up in the darkness before dawn.
Rush to collect flowers from every corner of the town for the decoration.
At this old age I long for my those days past and gone,
I cherish the thrills of collecting flowers by any means even from miser’s garden.
Lord Ganesh is not unhappy if decorated with such flowers stolen,
Today with new clothes on, no fear for teachers’ cane the school in festivity turns from prison to heaven,
Friends and friends all-around the days can never be forgotten.
Lord Ganesh is the God of learning and to-day we worship and pray him in unison.
Lord Ganesh may look to you strange in image,
But He has to teach many a lesson for our life to manage.
The elephant head to rat as His vehicle symbolizes, we are all brethren,
None is big or small, useful or useless all are his children .
Love all and honor each one’s role is his message,
To suit our selfish end and greedy motive the meaning behind the message we often change.
We see, feel but forget the perfection in the creation,
If not, then in rat’s existence why question goes on.
His eyes represent concentration of observation through their gigantic dimensions,
Head behind such nose and a tooth represents taking a decision after collection of many informations,
Tools and flowers in hand must be telling to record them for benefit of future generation.
His long ears indicate the importance of listening ,
The big sized head emphasizing the deepest thinking ,
The tools in hand may also meant to detach you from all attachments ,
The big belly is for digestion of both good and bad of life with stoic satisfaction,
Small mouth amply tells to speak less and one trunk for throwing bad away and keeping good in retention.
The elephant’s head was caused because of his obedience and devotion to Parvati His mother,
His head was cut, thrown out in anger Lord Shiva his father.
Later Shiva could know that his own son had carried out his mother’s instruction,
With all repentance Shiva had to do the elephant head transplantation.
All the logics in above narration may look funny,
But the analysis of the epics behind them will clear doubts if any.
Now we think of transplantation with limited vision,
This epic written eight thousand years ago had such transplantation in contemplation .
If science would have translated such transfer of organs from animal to man,
For man’s greed many animals would have lost their lives and race as a torturous consequence to loss of such organ.
The epic behind the lord is very vast and this is just to introduce you to the God of learnings,
Because of space constraints your further queries I may be excused for not answering
