A Mistaken Goal

Money is the power to own,
to fall in to its pitfalls, always the man is prone.
It is our love and aspiration
‘To accumulate it’ is a man’s passion.
To have it more and more,
the man’s need and greed do soar.
Day in and day out, dawn to morn
“Only to have it” seems to be the purpose, we are born.
As if the life’s ultimate target
an unlimited wealth we have to get.
Unspent money
at the end of our journey
is a bondage for our soul
turning it to a ghost or a ghoul
torturing and questioning the spirit
the method and the purpose of accumulating it.
