My Dreams
P K Routray
Sweet dream, we cherish,
With dream of life one does flourish
Day dreaming is the trait of a foolish
But real dream to me is always uppish.
“Tiger is after me, I cannot run,
I can do but it cannot be done,
I dream monkey preaching an august audience
putting on suit and boot with human brilliance.
Suddenly cows and bulls are found rushing
I am helplessly praying God to save me from the crushing.
Poisonous snakes are found zigzagging to me
I cannot run even if them I clearly see.
My car is stolen and I am a broke
I am under embarrassing distress and had a heart stroke.”
Illogical sequences, irreverent topic crops up in my dreams
jumping from the Everest to the pacific at times with laughter and at times with screams.
“I am shocked at times for no assistance from my wife sharing the bed
When I want to get up but no life I find in my limbs to come to my aid.
Being conscious of companion’s presence, I cry for help,
they seem to enjoy their gossip unaware of my yelp.”
When my sleep breaks interrupting a dream
most often I forget to recollect even the theme.
Hence perturbed I am at the sweet definitions of dreams,
psychologist to analyze either change the conception of dream or stop in dream my screams.
Submit I to my readers to contemplate on the dream’s usual definition
compare it with real life dream they have without any inhibition.
